☆*:.。. Kawaii Dorm Finds .。.:*☆

So college move in is right around the corner and I, as well as many of my other friends, will be starting college this year. I have been on the look out for some cute room decor for myself and to make a blog post about.  Keep in mind many of these items are from China, so they might take a while to ship! Make sure to order them soon!
So let's get started!

Bedding:
I was actually surprised that Target had such beautiful looking bedding!
This one here is $79.99 for a twin size.

Another find from Target! It is the same one as the brand before and it looks like they have a great style. This one is also $79.99 for a twin size.

This one is from Kohl's and comes with a complete set and what a cute design, especially those little clouds. This is also the one I bought for myself.

Storage:

A cute wall organizer in either a mint elephant, Rilakkuma, or a bunny! (I actually just bought the bunny one myself)

A very cute and functional organizer

I could not find this exact item that is able to send to the US, but I found a bird cage just like this at my local Michael's for only $16.99! I checked online, and they do not sell it on their site, but I'm sure a vintage bird cage is not hard to find. Plus it's a great and cute way to store basic things.

In my opinion, this would be a great way to store jewlery, or anything else!

Other:

Now what would be a super cute dorm without a bunch of fluffy friends to keep you company! Remember not to get too many though! Dorms tend to be extremely small.
Shopkawaii has an extremely large selection of plushies for good prices too!

Of course you're going to need some kind of hamper while in college. This one is collapsible as well!

Well doesn't this blanket look cozy! You never know when you might get a little chilly

Other great places to find things for your dorm:
  • Target
  • Kohl's
  • Ikea
  • Walmart

Now remember, this is just a few suggestions. You can design your dorm however you like! Be yourself and be cute!

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Flora Wedding Petticoat Review

Are you a lolita on a budget searching for a decent petticoat? Well I have found your answer!

Hello everyone! Today I will be reviewing Flora Wedding's, an eBay store, 50's Underskirt Rock N' Roll Petticoat! I first heard about Flora Wedding from LoliSourGrapes on youtube.

Now as any lolita may now, petticoats can get very expensive, but we all want that perfect poof! Well I found this petticoat to be extremely well made for it's cheap price.  It was 10.99 GBP (approximately 16.61 in USD) and shipping was 7.99 GBP (approximately 12.08 USD). So in total, this petticoat was 18.98 GBP or 28.69 USD. It is an A-line petti and comes in white, black, ivory, or red. Now I am from the US and I found this a great price for a petticoat! The item did ship from Great Britain through royal mail and arrived to me in about a week. I do not have a picture of the package, but it was very well packaged and no damage was done.

Here is my petticoat, unpackaged. It is a bit wrinkled, but I'm sure those wrinkles will fall out in no time. The waist is elastic and stretches from 23.5" or 43", so it can fit a wide range of people.

It has two layers of 100% Nylon Mesh with lots and lots of gathers and three tiers for lots of volume. The under layer is also very soft so it does not irritate your legs!
top layer

soft, bottom layer

Now let's see if this poof makes the test!
BEFORE

AFTER

Now look at that poof! This gave me just enough poof. I was completely surprised that only 2 layers gave this much volume. Now this is a bodyline JSK, so the fabric may not be as think as other brands, but I'd guess a similar result!

Lolisourgrapes also shows this petti in one of here videos, here

I would recommend Flora Wedding's, 50's Underskirt Rock N' Roll Petticoat, as a basic petticoat! For me, it made the test, in poof, length, price, and delivery!

Otakon 2013 preview

So as some of you may know, Otakon is just around the corner! This will be my fourth year at Otakon and it is my biggest convention! For me, it requires a lot of planning, but I love it! I am so excited for this year and I would like to share my planned outfits with you! This year Otakon is August 9-11, so I am planning fast!

Here is my current line up:

Thursday: ???
Friday: Kawaii/ Fairy Kei gunner
Saturday: Deer inspired Cult Party Kei
Sunday: Lolita

I am on a budget this year since I am leaving for college. I have been working as much as I can at my retail job for pay both for Otakon and my college expenses. So I've been trying to put these outfits together in a cheap, but quality way!

First up is my Friday outfit. I got inspiration for this one with an inside joke with my friends, Prince and Skye. We had a group that we called "Kawaii Killers" and I said we should all deco nerf guns and that's really how this idea started!

I already have some of these items in this picture (the hat, wig, shoes, and socks). I do not have this exact shirt, but I am going to use a shirt I have instead.
I have yet to order the shorts, I also decided I am going to get them in purple and yellow. I  just ordered my collar and the gun will be soon a project for me to do! So without the items I already own, this outfit will cost me about $90. Not TOO bad for what it could be.

Next up is Saturday's outfit. This one I actually came up with a while ago when I created a headpiece made with real antlers for my photography class, and of course I had to have some kind of outfit to go along with it, but did not really get around to that until now!

This was my original inspiration picture for my outfit (done by my friend Skye). It's changed slightly since then. I had to get a different dress because the one in this picture would ship far too late for my liking.
As of now, here is a progress shot of my outfit. I really do adore this one and cannot wait to wear it! It's almost complete as well! I just need a few accessories to finish it off! Once again, I already owned the wig and shoes and I created the headpiece myself. My peignoir was $28 and the dress was about $30. So with the final touches that I still need this one only costed me about $70!

Finally, is Sunday. Now I had absolutely NO clue of what I was doing for Sunday until a few days ago. My original plan was that I was going to cosplay Chii, but once I added up how much everything would cost, it would be about $200. This was way out for my budget for just one outfit. So then my lolita idea was born! I ordered almost everything of lolita sales so I got every part of this outfit for a great price! If I bought everything first hand it would probably be about $200 as well, but instead I got every part of this outfit for $140! In my opinion, this is a steal, ESPECIALLY in lollita.

All I need to order for this outfit is the blouse! Everything else has already been shipped out and is on my way to me.

I am so excited for Otakon! I think I have a great collection of outfits and they are all adorable. If you are going to Otakon, let me know who you are cosplaying as, what you are dressing in, or whatever! Don't be afraid to come and say hello!

Thanks for reading!
